Theatre Work, both backstage and FOH...

I have been working in and around theatres in an amateur capacity for many years, and in many different roles.

Before University I enjoyed taking part in both productions which I initiated myself, and those of pre founded companies.

I did all manner of FOH jobs ranging from ushering, working in the box office, being responsible for health and safety, and ultimately FOH house manager in the best companies in the areas I was brought up. This continued in to University where I worked FOH in our university theatre the 'Theatre Y Bont', and the 'Wales Millenium Centre', Cardiff Bay.

Backstage work has also been a passion. This developed from my love of acting and performance, initially as an exercise to take part in theatre as much as possible, and to become versed in the role everyone had to play. However as with most roles in theatre I was soon drawn in to the commeraderie, and mezmerised by the skills of the technicians and stage managers. I then went on to learn more about these skills and stage managed several productions before university, ultimately choosing the course at Glamorgan because of its multi-faceted nature, enabling me to take part in so many different fields of theatre work.
